This award recognizes each girl and boy for their athletic accomplishments and their dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by Mark “Coach Rozy” Roozen and his staff from Coach Rozy Performance – Powered by AVERA Sports Yankton, each athlete was chosen based on their determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence as a great model for all student-athletes at their schools.
“We are proud to have Coach Rozy and his staff join the NSCA in its mission to safely improve athletic performance,” says Eric McMahon, NSCA’s Coaching and Sport Science Program Manager, “Supporting our student-athletes like all those in Coach Rozy’s Performance program, guarantees a stronger future for the NSCA.”
Mark “Coach Rozy” Roozen said, “This is a really great honor for all the young boys and girls selected and also for the coaches, teams and schools. It shows the dedication that a program has to improving performance – at all levels. This is the most NSCA All-Americans we have ever had selected, which means a lot to all of us here at Coach Rozy Performance and with AVERA Sports Yankton.” He also stated, “ We had some firsts this year as well. Kyle Hirsch was our first athlete that was a High School NSCA All American and now got the award as a college athlete. Also, Spencer Karstens was our first 5x chosen All-American – passing up Matthew Mors, (Yankton’s basketball standout) who had won the award four times when he was an athlete at Yankton High School.”
Congratulations to each student athlete that received the award this year. An updated list of the All-American Athletes of the Year award, visit NSCA.com/All-American.
