HOW TO OVERCOME THE FEAR OF FAILURE: &
How to Overcome EGG-ON-YOUR-FACE Moments
Want to achieve our goals and dreams? Here is step #1 – and it’s a big one! Overcome your FEAR OF FAILURE. Once read a book that said FEAR stand for False Expectations Appearing Real! Most of the things we fear, actually about 90% of what we worry about, stress about, and build up fear about – NEVER EVEN HAPPENS. It’s the expectations and fears that build and and hold us back.
Today, to help get past those fears, we need to first look at those fears in the face – and put “what’s the worse thing that can happen” spin to it.
Here are some of the “fears” we worry about when we step out of our comfort zone to try something new or different:
Fear of looking stupid: You have a fear that people will laugh at you or think your ides is dumb. First, they probably won’t. And second, SO WHAT?
Fear of injury to pride: Your idea might be dumb, but you’ll never know until you put it out there. It probably isn’t. That’s why it’s great to read and hear about successful entrepreneurs, many were told that their million dollar idea was dumb, couldn’t be done and they should go do something else – until they became rich!
Fear of social rejection: If you get paralyzed with worry about what you friends think, maybe it’s time for new friends. Remember, it’s 2016 and almost 2017. There are 8 billion people out there – your one Facebook post away from finding a new circle of social acceptance!
Fear of feeling bad: Rejection can trigger a feeling similar to physical discomfort. That’s why we teach folks in our workout programs to push past the pain. You find out – YOU’LL LIVE!
Fear of uncertainty: Just tell yourself that no matter what happens, you’ll figure it out. Think of not reaching your goal the first time as just a path that didn’t work – back up and try another one.
There are stories after stores of those elite that failed – but ended up on top. The secret – they didn’t let their fears get the best of them. YOU CAN DO THE SAME. By confronting the bad thoughts, the fears or feelings that are holding you back – and practicing Fear Therapy – you’ll be able to push past the fears unit they no longer scare you.
Start by breaking your big goal into smaller ones so you can try (and fail if it happens) more often. If you do fail with a try, make sure you learn from it. Think about why you failed and write it down. By doing that, you’ll be able to get better results next time!
Need a little boost to help you out – here are some FEAR FACTOR SUCCESS STORIES. (With some, would you have stopped at 5 or 6 tries?)
51 – Number of unsuccessful games produced by Rovio before they developed Angry Birds
300 – Number of venture capitalist that rejected Pandora
600 – Number of auditions AVENGERS star Mark Ruffalo did before he landed his first role.
1093 – Number of patents acquired by Thomas Edison before he made the light bulb
9000 – Number of shots basketball legend Michale Jordan missed.
10,000 – Number of hours that a person should invest in doing something to become an expert or expect to master it!

I’m the twisted, yet at the same not broken. I’m the force of the tempest. I’m the magnificence in the monster. I’m the strength in shortcoming. I’m the trust amidst uncertainty. I’m Her!
