We’ve been pushing to make sure we reach out BHAG this year – our Big Hairy Audacious Goals. We’ve also talked about how to take those baby steps to make sure we don’t become overwhelmed with being able to make progress each day and not get bogged down with so much to do that it buries us instead of launches us to new heights.
Today, want to talk about how to make sure that you REALLY reach top levels in any area of your life that you want to make huge changes. The key is to have WRITTEN TARGETS and a way to MEASURE how you are doing to hitting your bullseye.
It’s been said that WHAT YOU GET MEASURED GETS DONE. This thought process might not be earth shattering – or a new concept – but are you applying it? This week, I want you to look at one or more areas of your life or business that you want to improve on – and figure out a way to measure what matters to you. You want to drop some weight; measure your body composition, take body measurement, Weigh yourself. Want to improve your finances, you can examine bank balances, balance worksheets or other critical factors that affect your pocketbook.
Take a few minutes and jot down where you are, where you want to be and when you want to get there. Creating a visual is even more effective than just writing things down Do your painted picture (next week – I’ll be talking about how to develop this “painted picture”.) See for yourself how much measurement matters as you work toward your personal and professional goals for 2016. You’ll be glad you did.
