MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY: GETTING AWAY FROM “PRODUCTION PARALYSIS”

COACH ROZY MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY:
GETTING AWAY FROM “PRODUCTION PARALYSIS”
The other week I spoke to you about your BHAG – your BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOAL. I wanted you to think bigger then you ever did before. I wanted you to make 2016 your best year yet! I still do. So this next step, request or endeavor I’m asking you to take might seem a little strange. I want you to stop thinking of your BHAG. Stop looking at it, thinking about it, worrying about it and even chasing it.
WHAT? I can hear folks now asking what the heck I’m I talking about. Your scratching your head and wondering why I would want you to stop going after your goals. You see, that’s not it! I’m not asking you to stop going after your goals – just stop being overwhelmed by something TO BIG. To big of a problem. To big of a goal. To big of chunk to chew. To much stress. You see, when we always just look at the big goal, we hit PRODUCTION PARALYSIS. It’s like a deer in headlights. When that big light shines on a deer, there is so much input going to the brain, that it can’t make any choice so it just stands there. Or in our case, we just get overwhelmed and drop our goal. Stop chasing the dream and go back to another year of “Wait until next year” mode of operation.
To get away from PRODUCTION PARALYSIS, I want you to do something for me. Just for today. Set up three steps that will help you toward your goal. Just think about that. It’s like when I was in China and a group took us to the Great Wall of China. Myself and a few buries I was with were planning on going up to one of the peaks. When we looked up from the point we were to start at – to the point we were suppose to go – we were that deer in headlights. We just stood their – frozen. We talked about maybe getting breakfast. Maybe going to another section of the wall, after all, what’s the big deal about getting up to the point here? After standing frozen for more then a few minutes, guess what we did. We took the first step, then two more. We stopped staring at the peak (our goal) and just concentrated on the small section we were on. Before we knew it (truthfully, it was longer then we thought!), we made it to the top. Not only did we make it to the peak – we even went a little further then we planned.
Do you have 1000 steps to take? Today – just take 3. Want to lose 40 lbs. For today, just think about what you’ll have for your next meal. Think about what you’ll do for your exercise after work. Plan to pass on that late night snack. If your goal was in business and you wanted to increase your sales by 50%. Today, just make one phone call. Put together just one proposal. Meet one new person. Tomorrow, when you focus again – don’t look at the 997 steps to go – do another 3 steps. Soon, you’ll not only hit the peak – you might even decide to go a little further then you thought you would, planned you would or even DREAMED YOU COULD!
Heres to LIVING YOUR PASSION IN 2016 – AND SHARING YOUR DREAM!!

Spelling and grammar in this article could use a few steps to get towards its goal. Your vs You’re and to vs too are some obvious ones. Cheers.
