BE A STUDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ADVERSITY

It’s hard to find anyone in history who became a great sucess without earning an advanced degree at the University of Adversity. A. W. Tozer once wrote, “It is doubtful whether God can bless a man greatly until he has hurt him deeply.” In your mission to pursue excellent in your life – no matter what dream you are chasing – know that you will face uphills battles. There will be road blocks that you will have to fight through. Even a flat road will have bumps, dips and potholes that you have to deal with. So understand before you can carry out that mission that is in your head and heart, you will have to go through the boot camp of adversity. If this is where you find yourself today, be thankful! It means you are on your way to achieve greatness. So keep pushing, keep digging and DO NOT STOP. I love the cartoon below, because so often we see folks stop chasing their dreams, and if they continued just a little longer they would have struck it rich!
My mentor, best friend and person I look up to asked me this long ago. If there was a field with 1000 rocks and boulder in it – and under one of the rocks was $1 Million Dollars, how many rocks would you turn over before you stopped? 10? 50? 100? Oh, by the way, some of the rocks are big old stones that might take even getting a machine to move them. The work would be hard, it would be intense, it might take you days and days. So would you stop? Or as you move 100, 200, 500 – would you start to work harder, faster and get more fired up? I know I would because with each stone turned, I know I’d be closer to that one million! Take that same approach in what goal you go for today! Keep pushign, keep turning over the rocks in your life – and under the next stone is your fortune! Make this week your best – and be proud that you are on your way to graduate from the University of Adversity.
